I like to think of “awareness” as what you notice in life. It’s about paying attention in the details you pick up from your perception of the world. It’s your consciousness actively gathering and processing information from your environment. It’s how you experience life.

Self- awareness is your ability to notice your feelings, your physical sensations, your reactions, your habits, your behaviors, and your thoughts— it is about being honest with yourself— it is your truth.

Finally, self-awareness is understanding who you are and your purpose. It is enlightenmentto fully accepting and understanding that anything is possible–doing so can open you up to so much that you are not able to see when you are in the dark and unaware.

Being self-aware is not easy. Some people never experience self-awareness in their life. That is due to lack of knowledge and limited access to figuring out their full potential. However, everyone is capable of reaching awareness–with practice and some guidance, you will, in no time, experience it.


There are so many benefits when it comes to meditation. It is a tool that we should all practice daily. It helps us become aware of ourselves, and everything around us. It gives us perspective and opens our minds to different possibilities that we’ve never thought of before. It can even aide our physical health and among many things that I eager you to do your research and learn more.

Read Self-Help Books

Reading triggers knowledge and wisdom. The more you read self-help books, the more you will understand the realm of possibilities in your life. You become aware of certain aspect of yourself that you’d never realized before.

I highly recommend for you to read: You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. With twenty-seven bite-sized chapters, Sincero lays it all out through her honest and often, harsh words. Sincero schools you on how to live your best life in a realistic yet spiritual way and writes about her own experiences and of others. It is an easy, quick read but has all you need to know to stimulate change, purpose, and awareness in your life.

Practice Gratitude

I urge that you begin to practice gratitude today! It is effortless and does not take much time or energy; however, it takes practice. I guarantee that once you do, you will see improvements in yourself– understand and appreciate life in a different way that best serves you.


Writing in a journal about the things you are grateful is easy. The hard part is remembering to do it every day and being consistent. After searching for many journals online, the best one I’ve found is The Five Minute Journal. By merely writing three things you are thankful for every day, you will gradually become aware and notice how much in life there is to appreciate.

If a gratitude journal does not work for you, then perhaps look into purchasing a journal where you can express your thoughts further.

Spend time in nature

We are part of nature– we are nature. As humans, we are the closest thing to all things natural. By spending time on grass, near trees, ocean, etc., it rejuvenates us and helps attune with our inner selves.


Awareness is essential. It is what makes who you are and live your best life. Begin the steps recommended above, and you will gradually change your life for good. Keep in mind that this is a journey, and it will take time, but the more it does, the better the outcome.
